Ingredients.
- 210g – Just About Foods All Purpose Four
- 1/2 tsp – Xanthan Gum
- 50g – old-fashioned rolled oats (gluten free)
- 100g – brown sugar
- 70g – granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp – ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp – nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp – salt
- 170g – unsalted butter (melted)
For the apple filling.
- 6 large pieces – granny smith apples
- 2 tbsp – Tapioca Starch
- 1 tsp – ground cinnamon
- 75g – brown sugar
- 40g – raw pecans or almonds
- If wished – vanilla ice cream (or any of your preference)
Instructions.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a large baking dish, reserve.
- Start by making the crumble topping. In a medium sized bowl, place all crumble ingredients and mix thoroughly until a dough is formed, extend to a plate and freeze for at least 20 minutes.
- To make the filling, peel and cut apples into small cubes, then simply mix all ingredients, except the ice cream, in a large bowl and toss to evenly coat the apples.
- Place the apple mixture into the baking dish and spread evenly; take the crumble out of the freezer and spread all over the top of the dish, making sure to break any large clumps.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; remove the foil and bake for another 35-40 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Allow for a few minutes to cool before serving along a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Enjoy!
