Monster Mozzarella Sticks  

Mozzarella Sticks breaded with Chickpea Crumbs

Ingredients 

  • 500g Low Moisture Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese block  
  • 2 eggs 
  • 5 tablespoons Just About Foods All-Purpose Gluten Free Flour 
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika  
  • 1/8 teaspoon Italian herbs 
  • 1 ½ cups Just About Foods Chickpea Crumbs  
  • Enough oil for deep frying 
  • Flaky salt  

Instructions: 

Prepare the breading station by beating the eggs on a shallow plate, mixing the crumbs with the paprika and herbs on another plate, and finally, putting the All-Purpose Flour in a different container.   

Cut the mozzarella cheese into 8 thick sticks and cover them with the All-Purpose Flour, shake the excess; dip into the egg, then into the Crumbs, again into the eggs and one final coat of Crumbs pressing them to make sure you have a nice thick coating. Repeat this process with the rest of the mozzarella sticks.  

Arrange the sticks over a baking tray and freeze them for 30 minutes to 1 hour before frying.   

When ready to fry, heat the oil over medium heat to 365°F on a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for approximately 2 minutes or until golden brown.   

Let the mozzarella sticks drain over a cooling rack.   

Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce and a sprinkle of flaky salt on top. Enjoy!
